Discover Summer Perfumes

Published by Eric Lundeen on

I know we appreciate winter, but I do not know of anyone who looks forward to freezing ice, heavy coats, poor driving conditions, or the exercise of shoveling snow. So, I would say many (probably more accurately, most) people look forward to summer as the best season of the year. Warm temperatures. Radiant sunshine. Baseball is on the radio. Sandals and, if you must, flip-flops. Camping trips. Boating is on the lake. And, barbeque ribs slow cooking on the backyard grill.

Incorporating the energy of the season and those pleasant warm breezes while enjoying the blooming flowers abound, let’s embrace a few summer perfumes that are sure to delight.

Summer Perfumes

Light Blue Eau Intense by Dolce & Gabbana:

This newly arrived fragrance is more potent and may be longer-lasting than its predecessor, Light Blue. While keeping similar notes of apple and woods, it is less citrusy and slightly more floral with marigold and jasmine. Also, this is now an Eau de Parfum for performance.

Fragrance Family: Floral and Citrus

Acqua di Gioia by Giorgio Armani:

Armani’s freshest scent has been marketed as “ideal for the warm season” of summer. Crushed mint and lemon give way to “charming” floral notes of jasmine and peony. The base note of cedarwood keeps this fragrance grounded and natural. Also an Eau de Parfum.

Primary Fragrance Family: Fresh

La Vague by Gerard Monet:

This is one that has been reviewed here before, and it just continues to be a Top-10 Best Seller. Fresh flowers with raspberry and pear, this Eau de Parfum is lively, energetic, and has that summer feeling of carefree bliss. A scent that a woman can enjoy and her daughter can look up to; this fragrance is invigorating.

Fragrance Family: Floral and Fruity

Viva La Juicy Glace by Juicy Couture:

The only sweet fragrance on our short list, this is a limited edition flanker of Viva La Juicy that recently arrived. The scent captures jasmine, vanilla, and frozen mandarin. Soft and sweet in a frosted bottle with an oh, so soft pink decorative ribbon. It is an appealing fragrance for a youthful personality.

Fragrance Family: Sweet, Floral and Fruity

Gucci Bloom by Gucci:

Launched in 2017, this too is new to the outlets. A pleasant floral and fresh perfume that utilizes white flowers, jasmine, Chinese honeysuckle, and woody accords to be a soft feminine scent. An Eau de Parfum that should be primarily worn as a daytime fragrance.

Primary Fragrance Family: Floral

Omnia Crystalline by Bulgari:

This is another fresh fragrance that is delicate and simple. Inspired by the “glowing clarity and purity of crystal” it is breezy and aromatic. Lotus flowers at its heart give a feminine direction, but make no mistake this Eau de Toilette is fresh throughout.

Primary Fragrance Family: Fresh

L’Eau D’Issey by Issey Miyake:

Last but not least, this Eau de Toilette certainly belongs on this list. Another primarily seasonal scent, fresh and citrus notes adorn to the skin. Peony, carnation, and lily notes add depth to the aquatic notes of lotus. Melon accords project the citrus. “L’Eau” is French for “water,” so the inspiration is the fuel for life.

Fragrance Family: Fresh, Citrus and Floral
